Duror is a lovely little hamlet, in the Appin countryside with a distinguished history. The famous Castle Stalker is just down the road. It is the capital of Appin in a way. It is on the A828 about 5 mins from Glencoe 30 mins from Oban.
It is the site of beautiful little Cuil Bay, a lovely stretch of beach, facing South down Loch Linnhe. There is a 14th century bridge hidden in the woods, and a cave in the hillside where a Clan Stewart Chief hid for months after the Bonnie Prince Charlie rebellion in the 18th century.

HOTELS in DUROR
Nearby in Kentallen is the most sensible hotel for holidays, THe Holly Tree Hotel. It has a totally fabulous location, an indoor swimming pool, very good bar meals and a restaurant. Rooms are about £75 per person sharing. There is one other hotel in the village.
BED AND BREAKFAST IN DUROR
You’ve got three, all top class. Pineapple House is on the A828, it is large with many bedrooms, almost a small hotel really. Really good reviews, prices around £35 head sharing. New owners.
Tigh Bhan also has new owners and is a classic lovely Highland house, on the tiny road to Cuil Bay, about £28 head sharing.
Then, way back from the road, up the hill you have the Bealach House. It is top class, see the prices, but the evening meal is reputed to be brilliant. £50 head sharing. Top reviews
