Kentallen is a joy. Pretty little white houses strung out along the lochside. Loch Linnhe is one of the most beautiful sea Lochs in Scotland. Kentallen’s place in history is secured by what became known as the Appin Murder, made famous as the basis of the book by Robert Louis Stevenson, Kidnapped. Glencoe is 5 miles away
The bay is good for fishing, for safe sailing and canoeing. You can launch small boats here, see the old piers. Wonderful walks in the area, great wildlife from the cottage window.

HOTELS in KENTALLEN In Kentallen is the most sensible hotel for holidays, THe Holly Tree Hotel. It has a totally fabulous location, an indoor swimming pool, very good bar meals and a restaurant. Rooms are about £75 per person sharing. It is a chosen favourite for the whole region. Gilliand I stay there.
There is no other hotel in the village.
BED AND BREAKFAST IN KENTALLEN
You’ve got two in the neighbouring village, Duror, both top class. Pineapple House is on the A828, it is large with many bedrooms, almost a small hotel really. Really good reviews, prices around £35 head sharing. New owners.
Tigh Bhan also has new owners and is a classic lovely Highland house, on the tiny road to Cuil Bay, about £28 head sharing.
